Would you like to be an exhibition partner at Expo 2010 Shanghai?
Naturally we were delighted and honoured when, once again, Peoples was chosen to be a partner of The Danish Pavilion. This gives us another unique opportunity to do our bit to market Danish design in general and, it goes without saying, our own design and products in particular. We were also a partner at EXPO 2008 in Zaragoza, and participation of this kind at world exhibitions comes with the high expectation that this could help to spread awareness of Danish values and Danish design, and thus create competitive advantages on the export markets. As a small company from a small country, it is extraordinarily important to show your face and get a feel for how our products are faring in the greater scheme of things.

The fact that the exhibition’s slogan this time round is “Better City, Better Life” couldn’t be more appropriate for us, as it so perfectly sums up our own reason for being there. Our own heading “Better Urban Design” describes how “we contribute to a better urban environment through the development and design of beautiful and functional furniture and inventory solutions”. We are even the only company actually exhibiting our “real” products in the Pavilion, as all the other furnishings have been specially produced for the occasion. As mentioned below, this also gives us a unique opportunity to sell our products to visitors to the exhibition and other interested parties.

EXPO 2010 Special Collection
As an exhibition partner of The Danish Pavilion, Peoples will be supplying a range of waste bins and ashtrays. Based on our own Airport Design programme, which is developed in collaboration with Copenhagen Airports, we have designed a unique Expo 2010 Special Collection, consisting of four different yet beautifully matching bins for this occasion. The bins go perfectly in the places they are intended for, whether under a table, by the entrance with integrated ashtrays or in bar areas and corridors and aisles. All of the waste bins/ashtrays are painted in the same attractive white colour as everything else in the Pavilion and, this time, the public will be able to buy these special models, either by ordering them directly in the Pavilion’s shop or online via the website, which has been set up for the event www.peoples.dk/expo. Everybody is, of course, welcome to place an order – so don’t delay if you want to feel the rush of the crowds from the rest of the big wide world!

We are looking forward to this opportunity to fly the Danish flag, speak to a lot of interesting people and sell lots of products from our collection!

It’s big and we take it very seriously!
EXPO 2010 Shanghai is the biggest world exhibition ever, with up to 100 million visitors expected in the period from 1 May to 31 October. The Danish government’s record-breaking contribution to the exhibition and the massive Danish presence at EXPO will result in a long-term and valuable marketing opportunity, which we at Peoples will also benefit from. Just how seriously we take the exhibition here in Denmark can be seen from the fact that we have shipped our national treasure “The Little Mermaid” to Shanghai, where she (and Peoples’ products!!) will be the landmark of The Danish Pavilion throughout this period.
